Caregiver (On Call, Friday and Saturday 6am-2pm Shift)

About the role

The Caregiver at Emerald Court meets the needs of community residents by providing assistance with activities of daily living. Responsibilities include monitoring residents' well-being, assisting with various tasks, supervising activities, and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain residents' well-being and report any changes to appropriate associates/departments
• Assist with simple requests and learn resident preferences for exceptional customer service
• Supervise or assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, ambulation, and other ADLs
• Provide companionship, develop resident relations, and respond to emergencies
• Use assistive devices and encourage self-care
• Document care provided and provide input to directors
• Review and maintain up-to-date care checklists and reports
• Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy
• Practice standard precautions and safe work practices
• Monitor residents and document status
• Support the Customer Service desk and answer telephones
• Participate in resident-centered wellness programs and community events
• Assist residents with social needs and interact with staff, family, and other residents
• Maintain community common areas and residents' rooms
• Assist with laundry and support open communication
• Support team efforts and adhere to company standards
• Reduce costs and improve efficiency
• Report any issues to supervisor

Requirements

• Bring a smile to work every day

• High school education or GED equivalent preferred
• Nursing assistant course recommended

Special Requirements/Certifications

• First Aid certification and CPR, if required
• Meet state training requirements and/or certifications
• Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) desirable
• Basic competency in using multiple forms of technology, including Microsoft Office applications
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
