About the role

Personal Care Aides provide essential caregiving services to clients in their homes, primarily on weekends, under the supervision of a Home Care Manager.

Responsibilities

• Follow client care plans and complete daily tasks via electronic systems.
• Assist with personal care such as bathing, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation, and feeding.
• Utilize safety precautions, infection control, and special equipment like walkers and wheelchairs.
• Perform secondary tasks like laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and report issues or changes in client condition.
• Respect client confidentiality and privacy, provide quality care within scope, and avoid tasks beyond credentials.
• Support clients' self-help and ensure safe medication practices, specifically only assisting with medication self-administration.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School diploma preferred; ability to read and write required.
• At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Strong communication, compassion, and adherence to safety and infection control standards.
