About the role
This role involves providing personal care and support to clients in their homes, following individualized care plans and ensuring safety and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities such as bathing, grooming, ambulating, meal preparation, feeding, and using assistive devices like wheelchairs and walkers.
- Encourage client self-help and independence while maintaining a safe, clean environment.
- Complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets and document care activities accurately.
- Notify supervisors of any significant changes in client condition or unsafe situations.
- Respect client privacy, adhere to infection control and safety precautions, and provide quality, ethical care within scope.
- Assist with secondary tasks like light housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping, as appropriate.
- Monitor for abuse, neglect, or privacy violations and report concerns immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred, with the ability to read and write.
- Minimum of 6 months caregiving experience validated through references.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to follow care plans, utilize equipment safely, and perform basic personal care tasks.
- Strong commitment to client safety, confidentiality, and providing compassionate care.
