Caregiver Needed for Early Mornings

About the Role

Qualicare KC Home Care is seeking a reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to support a wonderful adult client in her home in Lee’s Summit. This is private in-home care for a physically disabled adult recovering from an injury (non-senior).

The client is a kind and pleasant individual who values dignity, organization, and consistency.

Schedule

Preferred Schedule: 7:00 AM – 12:00 AM and/or 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Additional hours may be available for the right fit. Reliability is crucial, as this is part of a 24/7 care schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with restroom needs
• Showering and personal care (good organization and attention to detail are important)
• Assistance with personal care and hygiene, including incontinence briefs
• Light housekeeping
• Meal preparation
• Transfers (some lifting required, but not heavy)
• Being proactive and attentive to needs; learning to anticipate needs as you get to know the client
• Accompany clients on outings
• Shopping and errands
• Medication assist/reminders
• Ambulation and transporting of clients
• Provide companionship to clients
• Ability to follow care-plan
• Documentation/Charting

Requirements

• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and assist with transfers safely and consistently
• Strong bedside manner and respectful communication
• Dependable and punctual
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive
• Experience in life with caregiving or professionally
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must hold a valid Driver’s License
• Demonstrate good judgment when dealing with patients, visitors, families, and co-workers
• Must have reliable transportation to be able to run errands for clients or drive between client shifts
• Capable of working independently while maintaining a calm and focused demeanor
