About the role
The Waterford at Hartford is a premier retirement community in Hartford, WI, offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Responsibilities
- Performs caregiving duties in accordance with accepted standards of resident care.
- Measures height and weight and vital signs as needed.
- Assists with dressing, grooming, bathing, escorts, and transfers.
- Cares for the resident's environment and reports changes in behavior and conditions to the Assisted Living Director.
- Provides regulated queuing services, personal care, and laundry assistance.
- Ensures residents' recreational needs are met by providing activities and assisting with attending programs/events.
- Aids residents with nutritional needs, setting dining tables, serving meals, and offering substitutions.
- Maintains proper charting procedures and follows infection control guidelines.
- Communicates with residents, families, staff, and other visitors, reporting resident condition changes and exchanging information.
- Supports community goals, provides meal reminders, and assists residents in participating in planned activities.
- Ensures residents' rights are respected and maintains confidentiality.
- Attends in-service education programs and completes required training.
- Audits resident care and implements improvements based on audit information.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred.
- State certification/registration or graduation from a state-approved nursing assistant training program preferred.
- Preferred knowledge and experience in nursing, senior living, home health, or similar fields.
- CPR certified and/or first aid preferred.
- Internal candidacy requirements: employed by the community for at least 6 months, no attendance write-ups in the past 6 months, performance in good standing, positive attitude, dedicated, hard worker.
Qualifications
- Good physical and mental health.
- Basic reading and writing skills and ability to speak English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods, push/pull objects, and carry up to 20 pounds, unassisted on a frequent basis.
