Caregiver - Lead

About the role

The Lead Caregiver is a frontline leader responsible for providing hands‑on resident care, coaching team members, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance standards are met. They manage shift assignments, monitor resident health, and communicate concerns promptly. Additionally, they support onboarding and mentor new caregivers to promote a compassionate, professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift coverage and manage attendance
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADL)
• Train and coach caregivers on service quality and documentation
• Review charting to ensure alignment with Individualized Service Plans (ISP)
• Monitor resident changes and address concerns
• Support safety, compliance, and smooth shift transitions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18 years
• CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications

Skills

• Strong communication, delegation, and decision‑making abilities
• Experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior‑care settings
