Key Responsibility Areas
- Plan and organize tasks within the care plan and perform tasks as directed by the client and IHSS Nurse.
- Keep appropriate records and assist with activities, meals, and snacks.
- Communicate with medical and other professionals to implement necessary changes, confirm treatments, and handle emergencies.
- Ensure a clean, healthy environment by taking measures to keep the home in a safe condition and respecting client confidentiality.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- A valid Colorado driver’s license or ID, without a history of violations, and current automobile insurance if transporting clients.
- To have a Smart Phone to utilize YLYW’s telephony system to clock in and out when providing services.
- Geriatric, medical, and/or home care experience is a plus.
- The ability to interact and work cooperatively with consumers, coworkers, supervisors, family members, and community referral sources.
- The ability to perform general homemaking skills, demonstrate customer service skills, make common sense decisions, and perform duties as required.
- The ability to communicate effectively, conduct oneself in a professional manner, and maintain a professional appearance that enhances the firm’s reputation.
- The ability to respect confidentiality of the client.
Other Requirements/Preferences
- A valid out-of-state driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Background Check Requirements
- Criminal history record check required by the State of Colorado.
- The HCA shall consider the history of convictions, pleas of guilty or no contest, the nature and seriousness of the crimes, the time that has elapsed since the conviction(s), and any mitigating circumstances when assessing whether to employ an applicant with a felony or misdemeanor conviction.
- The HCA shall develop and implement policies and procedures regarding the employment of any individual who is convicted of a felony or misdemeanor to ensure that the individual does not pose a risk to the health, safety, and welfare of the consumer.
