Key Responsibilities
- Companionship & Cognitive Support
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation.
- Offer gentle reminders and cues as needed.
- Support participation in daily activities and routines.
- Encourage engagement in exercise and wellness activities.
- Mobility & Safety
- Provide standby assistance with walking and mobility.
- Avoid transfers from sitting to standing positions when needed.
- Help ensure safety on uneven surfaces and during movement throughout the home.
- Monitor for fall risks and provide support as appropriate.
- Personal Care Assistance
- Provide standby assistance for shower transfers and bathing routines.
- Offer verbal reminders and cues for safety during personal care.
- Assist with dressing tasks that may be difficult, such as shoes, buttons, and other fasteners.
- Promote independence while providing support as needed.
- Household Support
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including:
- Vacuuming or sweeping floors
- Tidying common living areas
- Emptying the dishwasher
- Wiping counters
- Taking out trash
- Assisting with organization projects as needed
- Complete laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and linens.
- Meal Preparation
- Assist with preparing simple meals or dishes for future meals and social gatherings.
- Help create grocery lists as needed.
- Assist with grocery shopping when requested.
- Transportation & Community Support
- Provide transportation assistance for errands and appointments as needed.
- Assist with grocery shopping and other community outings.
- Support attendance at activities and appointments when required.
- Pet Care
- Must be comfortable with and genuinely enjoy dogs.
- Assist with the care of two friendly Goldendoodles.
- Help with walks, outings, transportation to daycare, and general pet-related activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Reliable transportation.
- Genuine compassion for seniors and a commitment to respectful, dignified care.
