Caregiver (DSP) - Kind, Humorous Woman (SE Portland)
About the role
UCP Oregon is an exciting and empowering place to work. We help adults who experience developmental disabilities to live the life of their dreams—whether that's living independently, working in a great job, or pursuing their interests and hobbies. We are currently seeking a full-time caregiver "Personal Assistant" who will support a woman that experiences developmental disabilities. She is an independent, kind, and humorous woman that lives in her own apartment in SE Portland. She really enjoys getting out in the community and doing social activities. She has an amazing sense of humor and loves to laugh. She is eager to work with personal assistants that will value time spent in the community as well as downtime in the home. You will spend time together going to movies, bowling, or eating out (especially pizza). She also values working with personal assistants that enjoy planning and participating in arts and crafts activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care and household tasks such as cooking meals and tidying up her apartment.
- Provide substantial assistance with showering, dressing, eating, and using adaptive equipment.
- Manage health care needs including medication administration and proper care when she is ill or injured.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to pass pre‑hiring screenings: reference check, physical with a 50 lb lifting test, and criminal history background check.
- Experience in the developmental disability field preferred, but not required.
Pay
$18.36 per hour.

Schedule
- Two shifts per week totaling 42 hours:
- 2 pm Sunday to 8 pm Monday (30‑hour shift)
- 8 am to 8 pm Friday (12‑hour shift)
- Work regular hours on Agency holidays.
