Caregiver - Burbank

About the role

Caregivers can work independently in client homes or for a healthcare facility providing personal care to patients. They typically travel to a client's home and help them perform basic domestic tasks like cleaning and activities of daily living such as bathing and providing them with companionship and emotional support.

Responsibilities

• Provide clients with companionship, socialization, and mental stimulation
• Transport clients to and from appointments, errands, activities, etc.
• Auxiliary with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Auxiliary with transfers & ambulation
• Provide medication reminders
• Prepare and cook meals

Requirements

• Experience with dementia care; Alzheimer's; Parkinson's
• Empathy and the ability to care for the client’s social, emotional, physical, and mental needs
• Ability to respond to an emergency situation
• Physical ability to reach with hands and arms
• Ability to carry, lift or pull up to 50 pounds, while avoiding injury from transferring, repositioning, or lifting patients
• Ability to occasionally push/pull objects up to 50 pounds and to bend/kneel to complete activities
• Physical strength and stamina

Qualifications

• Committed to providing patients with high-quality care
• Strong interest in elderly care and memory impairment disorders
• Energetic and compassionate
• Team player and great communicator

Skills

• Current HCA (Preferred)
• CPR Certification
