Caregiver

About the Role

Visiting Angels' office in Lufkin is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide support to senior adults and those in need throughout the Deep East Texas area, including Lufkin, Huntington, Diboll, Zavalla, Nacogdoches, Corrigan, Applesprings, Etoile, Wells, and surrounding communities. This role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact by becoming a companion to someone in need, while also providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility (using hoyer lifts, gait belts, walkers, or wheelchairs)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (bathing, incontinence care)
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with client assistance
• Accompany clients on errands (grocery shopping, salon visits, doctor appointments)
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies

Requirements

• Passion to serve others with a true caregiver spirit
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor
• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care
• Experience transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt
• Strong ethics
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia
• 2 years professional experience with the elderly in a facility or agency, or CNA certification

Pay

$11.00 - $13.00 per hour
