Caregiver

About the role

The Visiting Angels office in Lufkin seeks caregivers for the Deep East Texas area, including Crockett, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Berea, Pennington, Groveton, and more. We are looking for compassionate individuals committed to providing care to seniors and those in need.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Ambulate and assist clients with mobility
• Provide personal care and hygiene assistance
• Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Shop for clients or accompany them to appointments
• Be a companion and support person
• Report and respond to emergencies

Requirements

• Passion to serve others
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Housekeeping and cooking skills with dietary considerations
• Respectful and compassionate attitude
• Strong ethics
• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care
• Transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia
• Two years professional experience with the elderly in a facility or agency, or CNA certification
