About the Role

Visiting Angels’ office in El Paso is seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as caregivers. This role is an opportunity to give back to the community by providing care and companionship to senior adults and those in need across the West Texas region, including El Paso and surrounding areas. We value individuals with strong backgrounds in home care or elderly care, community involvement, and a big heart. This position offers personal growth through advanced training in areas like dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility (e.g., doctor’s appointments, walks)
• Support clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with client assistance (when possible)
• Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping
• Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies

Requirements

• Passion to serve others with a true caregiver spirit
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Familiarity with housekeeping and cooking, considering dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful, compassionate, and ethical demeanor
• Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance
• High school diploma or equivalent
