About the role

Visiting Angels Amarillo is urgently hiring a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The role involves assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), preparing meals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, administering medications, engaging clients in social activities, and utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any concerns or changes in client status.

Requirements

• Experience in caregiving or related fields, including home health or hospice care.
• Working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Passing background check and drug screening.
