Caregiver
Job Summary
Working as a Caregiver in our Community Based Care Facility, you will assist residents with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being, while also providing companionship.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or mental health.
- Aids in serving resident meals.
- Provides companionship and builds positive relationships with clients to reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness.
- Aid in maintaining accurate records of care provided, including daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Maintain resident confidentiality.
- Encourage clients to participate in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Support clients in maintaining independence in their daily routines and decision-making.
- Ensure a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards in community settings.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, such as falls, injuries, or sudden health changes, following established protocols.
- Collaborate with the care team, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members, to provide coordinated care.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure clarity and understanding of care plans and any changes.
- Present for staff meetings and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or community-based care is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting residents with mobility.
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to pass a background check.
