Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate care plans.
- Support individuals with mobility challenges using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces to create a welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual needs.
- Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations while documenting patient information.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, hospice care, or long-term care is preferred.
- Familiarity with first aid and CPR techniques is essential for ensuring client safety.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families.
- Able to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges as needed.
- A compassionate nature combined with patience and empathy towards those you support.
- Certification in direct support or relevant social work experience is a plus.
