About the role
As a Health & Wellness Assistant, you'll help create exceptional daily experiences for residents by providing compassionate care, supporting independence, and delivering personalized service through The Sterling Touch®.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, eating, grooming, personal hygiene, mobility, communication, and toileting
- Support residents in accordance with their personalized care plans while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being
- Observe residents and communicate changes or concerns to the nursing team
- Provide medication assistance and administration in accordance with state regulations and community policies when appropriately licensed and assigned
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families while creating a warm, engaging atmosphere
- Participate in community activities, wellness programs, dining experiences, and special events
- Work collaboratively with Health & Wellness, Culinary, Lifestyle, and Hospitality teams to deliver an exceptional resident experience
- Ensure exceptional documentation is submitted for all services provided or declined
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- One or more years of experience providing assistance with activities of daily living, highly preferred
- One or more years of experience working with seniors, preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) credentials, preferred or required as applicable by state and assignment
- Experience with caring for seniors will be considered in lieu of licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive attitude and genuine desire to enhance the lives of others
- Ability to read, write, and understand English in order to communicate effectively with residents, guests, supervisors, and team members
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and remain active throughout the shift
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
