We have positions open throughout San Diego County. We offer flexible hours based on your availability—Full-time, Part Time—and competitive pay, starting at $19/hr and up.

Job Description

The role of a caregiver at Golden Care is to provide high-quality, non-medical care and support services to clients, delivering care with professionalism, empathy, compassion, kindness, and in a respectful manner. Some caregiver duties include, but not limited to:

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia or related behaviors (i.e., wandering, paranoia).
  • Aid clients with all their ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean-living environment.
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding if needed.
  • Assist with transferring and ambulation, providing safety, stability, and support.
  • Transport clients for appointments, grocery shopping, errands, and outings.

Requirements Needed to Apply

  • MUST have at least 3 months of professional experience working as a caregiver;
  • MUST be, or willing to register as a California Home Care Aide (HCA);
  • MUST be able to clear a criminal background check by the DOJ/FBI;
  • MUST have a current Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test (or willingness to complete one);
  • MUST obtain a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle;
  • MUST be 18 years of age or older;
  • MUST be able to provide 2 forms of ID such as a Driver's license, social security, Passport, and/or Birth certificate;

Responsibilities

  • Follow clients’ provided plan of care, safety precautions, and procedures.
  • Monitor, observe, and report suspected concerns or changes in clients' condition or health status to a supervisor or the appropriate parties immediately.
  • Communicate effectively and respond to all forms of communication from the office in a timely manner.

  • MUST be reliable, dependable, and on-time.
  • MUST dress professionally.
  • MUST be kind, empathetic, compassionate, respectful, have a positive attitude, and great work ethics.
  • MUST have a passion and desire to help others improve their quality of life, while maintaining clients' self-respect, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
  • MUST be comfortable using a smartphone for basic communication and care documentation.
