About the Role
Avenues Home Care of Tennessee caregivers provide essential care to elderly, vulnerable, disabled, and individuals unable to care for themselves. You will serve clients in Knoxville, Sevierville, Cherokee Hills, Pigeon Ford, and surrounding areas, prioritizing their needs above all else.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as outlined in their care plan, including:
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Toileting, transferring, eating, and continence care
- Provide medication assistance, light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, and transportation to appointments
- Offer companionship and perform other household tasks specified in the client’s plan of care
- Report daily activity to supervisors via the agency management system, daily logs, or other communication methods (phone, email, app, in-person)
- Practice safety in all client-related activities
- Lift or push up to 50 pounds as required
- Demonstrate honesty, accountability, and integrity in all interactions
- Remain vigilant for changes in client condition or potential care concerns
- Maintain professional appearance in compliance with company dress code and policies
- Report for shifts on time and communicate scheduling changes promptly
- Report suspected abuse or neglect immediately per legal requirements
- Document unusual behaviors, events, conditions, or individuals
- Maintain confidentiality of client records and information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies
- Attend meetings and in-service training as requested
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal/written instructions
- Proficiency with Homecare Company Management System (ClearCare)
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
- Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
- Maintain "Fit for Duty" physical condition
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA license or prior caregiver experience
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Prior experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled, or vulnerable clients

Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts
- PRN and short shifts
