Responsibilities

• Provide client services as directed by the Director of Operations or the Owners.
• Provide personal care to the client as applicable, including but not limited to: Bathing and personal hygiene; Grooming, including oral care; Assist the client with dressing and undressing; Assist the client with toileting activities; Perform light housekeeping; Change bed linens and make up the client’s bed; Maintain an orderly client environment; Perform meal preparation and clean up; Assist in feeding the client, if necessary; Feed clients who are unable to feed themselves; Assist client in the self-administration of medication (medication reminders); Support good skin care to prevent skin breakdown (i.e., turn and reposition client; actively encourage movement).
• Aid client with active and passive range of motions as defined by the plan of care.
• Assist client with walking and transferring.
• Measure and record height and weight.
• Measure and document intake and output, as required.
• Ensure a safe environment for the client and promote quality client care through adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Support client in walking and transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, shopping.
• Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions.
• Respond rapidly and appropriately in an emergency situation.
• Use equipment properly and in a safe manner.
• Maintain client’s rights, including but not limited to: the right to privacy and dignity while care is being provided; the right to accept or refuse care; the right to confidentiality of the client’s information.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of documented experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the client.
• Treat clients, families, staff, and the public with courtesy and respect; presents a positive public image.
• Works as a team member.
• Ensures confidentiality and security of the client’s medical information.
