Responsibilities
- Provide client services as directed by the Director of Operations or the Owners.
- Provide personal care to the client as applicable, including but not limited to: Bathing and personal hygiene; Grooming, including oral care; Assist the client with dressing and undressing; Assist the client with toileting activities; Perform light housekeeping; Change bed linens and make up the client’s bed; Maintain an orderly client environment; Perform meal preparation and clean up; Assist in feeding the client, if necessary; Feed clients who are unable to feed themselves; Assist client in the self-administration of medication (medication reminders); Support good skin care to prevent skin breakdown (i.e., turn and reposition client; actively encourage movement).
- Aid client with active and passive range of motions as defined by the plan of care.
- Assist client with walking and transferring.
- Measure and record height and weight.
- Measure and document intake and output, as required.
- Ensure a safe environment for the client and promote quality client care through adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support client in walking and transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, shopping.
- Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions.
- Respond rapidly and appropriately in an emergency situation.
- Use equipment properly and in a safe manner.
- Maintain client’s rights, including but not limited to: the right to privacy and dignity while care is being provided; the right to accept or refuse care; the right to confidentiality of the client’s information.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of documented experience.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Empathy for the needs of the client.
- Treat clients, families, staff, and the public with courtesy and respect; presents a positive public image.
- Works as a team member.
- Ensures confidentiality and security of the client’s medical information.
