Caregiver - 12-Hour Shifts Daytime and Overnight

About the Role

As a Senior Helpers Caregiver, you make a lasting impact that betters the lives of our clients and their families. You will provide one-on-one personal care to help clients remain safe and independent in their home. We are seeking professional and CNA-level experienced caregivers for ongoing clients needing full-time care, with 12-hour daytime or overnight availability in the Berthoud area. Shifts may also include 8-hour periods.

A Day in the Life

• Provide a helping hand and engage in fun, meaningful conversations to build relationships.
• Participate in clients’ favorite hobbies (scrapbooking, gardening, games, etc.).
• Prepare meals for clients.
• Assist with walking, dressing, and other daily activities.
• Report completed activities and provide updates on clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain open communication with seniors, families, and staff.
• Personal Care:
  • Bathing, mobility, transferring, and positioning.
  • Incontinence care and medication reminders.
  • Oral hygiene, feeding, toileting, grooming, and dressing guidance.
• Companionship:
  • Conversation, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
  • Errand services, grocery shopping, and incidental transportation.
  • Laundry, linen washing, clothes shopping, and recreational activities.
  • Organizing incoming mail.
• Perform any other tasks delegated by family or staff to enhance successful aging in place.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least one year of professional caregiving experience.
• Legal identification and authorization to work in the United States.
• Reliable transportation to transport clients and assist with errands; ability to arrive on-time.
• Ability to use an electronic clock-in/out and care documentation system via a smartphone.
• Experience with Parkinson’s, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s clients is a plus.
• Current COVID and Flu vaccinations.
