Careers Officer

About the role

Could you inspire and guide young people as they explore their future pathways? Join our school as a Careers Officer and play a key role in helping students make informed decisions about their education, training, and career opportunities. As a Careers Officer you’ll provide impartial, up to date career information, advice and guidance for individual and groups of students; career options, education pathways and employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Providing career advice
• Developing and maintaining resources to ensure career information is accessible, accurate and inclusive
• Building relationships with schools, colleges, employers and local organisations to support career development initiatives
• Organising events such as visits, workshops and career fairs to expose individuals to different industries and roles
• Supporting career development by assisting young people in understanding industry requirements and supporting with planning their career progression

Skills

• Passionate about supporting and inspiring young people to achieve their aspirations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, employers, and training providers

Pay

Pay Scale Band 9, Scale Points 41‑45. Actual salary: £14,414 – £15,657 per annum (FTE: £32,360 – £35,151).

Schedule

19.5 hours per week – Part time, Permanent, Term time only. Required from 1st December 2026 or earlier.
