MyBartender is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Content Writer & Cocktail Recipe Developer to join our editorial team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about mixology, spirits, and crafting engaging content that inspires home bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts.

About the role

You’ll research, develop, and write original cocktail recipes, how-to guides, and feature articles for our blog and social channels. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience behind the bar, a deep knowledge of spirits and ingredients, and the ability to translate complex techniques into clear, fun, and accessible instructions.

Responsibilities

• Develop 8–10 original, tested cocktail recipes per month, including ingredient lists, step-by-step instructions, and high-quality photography.
• Write 2–3 feature articles or how-to guides monthly (e.g., “How to Build a Home Bar,” “Seasonal Syrup Techniques,” “Pairing Cocktails with Food”).
• Collaborate with the editorial and social teams to plan content calendars and align recipes with seasonal themes, holidays, and trending topics.
• Research and fact-check ingredient origins, spirit histories, and mixology techniques to ensure accuracy and depth.
• Optimize content for SEO, including keyword research, meta descriptions, and internal linking.
• Engage with readers via comments and social media to build community and gather feedback.
• Stay current on industry trends, new products, and emerging techniques in mixology.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional writing experience, preferably in food, beverage, or lifestyle publishing.
• Hands-on experience in bartending, mixology, or recipe development (professional or advanced home bartender level).
• Strong knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, bitters, syrups, and fresh ingredients, including flavor profiles and substitutions.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging instructions for both novice and experienced bartenders.
• Basic photography skills and familiarity with styling drinks for social media (DSLR or smartphone).
• Comfortable working in WordPress or similar CMS, and with SEO best practices.
• Self-starter with excellent time-management skills; able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
