Responsibilities
- Instruction & Curriculum Development
- Demonstrates expert knowledge in the field and the ability to transmit and extend that knowledge to students and others through dynamic, stimulating, and creative strategies.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop critical, creative thinkers through continuous planning, analyses, evaluation and revision of courses and workshops.
- Demonstrates current knowledge in the field and sustained effectiveness in teaching in the classroom or in an organizational setting.
- Teaches in a variety of environments, including classroom, community/internships, innovation lab, or distance/online.
- Teaches on multiple ASU campus sites.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates innovative teaching methods.
- Incorporates scholarly and creative activities into teaching.
- Program & Institutional Service
- Participates in professional service through membership on elected, appointed, and voluntary committees in the college, university, community, and professional organizations that contribute to the Edson College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation, the individual professional, and to higher education.
- Participates in appointed and voluntary activities that contribute to the college, university, and community.
- Participates in faculty governance of the College and University.
- Participates in the strategic plan of the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation.
- Scholarship & Research
- Engage in scholarly activities related to education or health care innovation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on research projects, presentations, or publications.
- Support student scholarly inquiry in alignment with the Innovative Health program requirements.
- Incorporate scholarly and creative activities into teaching.
- Other Essential Duties
- Ability to quickly change priorities
- Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data or results.
- Use computers effectively.
- Holds an earned Master's from a regionally accredited school in innovation, health sciences, law, business, health management, or related field by the time of appointment.
- Two years of equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
- Holds an earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited school in innovation, health sciences, law, business, health management, or related field (desired).
- Minimum of two (2) years teaching and curriculum development in higher education (undergraduate and graduate).
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to forge effective relationships with industry sponsors and thought leaders.
- Strong knowledge of current issues and practices in innovation, the development, evaluation, and approval of innovation proposals.
- Experience with Venture Capital Development, proposals, and funding.
- Active contributions and service in professional organizations supporting quality, best practices, and innovation in the regulatory, clinical professions, and academic programs.
