About the role

The Career Navigator II at Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina assists individuals seeking economic mobility by developing career plans, setting clear objectives, and connecting them to resources.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with individuals seeking economic mobility.
  • Develops career plans and sets clear objectives around education, training, employment, and resources.
  • Utilizes and navigates NCWorks database and inputs career plans and data into systems.
  • Assists with career portfolio services such as writing resumes and cover letters and helping with LinkedIn profiles.
  • Participates in community outreach such as job fairs and career fairs to help individuals understand available resources.
  • Serves as a conduit to barrier mitigation and provides referrals to other resources and organizations.
  • Manages and reconciles federal funds supporting individuals receiving services through Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs.

Requirements

  • Education Associate's degree or minimum of 1-2 years' experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent critical thinking and time management skills.
  • Understanding of other organization’s policies.
  • Active listening and excellent soft skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and understanding of deadlines.
  • Specialized training and background clearance.
  • Understanding of HIPPA and confidentiality.
  • Able to travel over 75% as needed.
