Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges (2025), one of the Nation’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® (2025), and a Great Colleges to Work For® (2025), is seeking a Career Development Specialist for a full-time grant-funded position at Apalachee Correctional Institution in Snead, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Administration and interpretation of assessments.
  • Delivery of the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum.
  • Delivery of other programs as determined by the Department.
  • Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.
  • Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions on the Department’s approved form, DC5-149 “Correctional Daily Attendance Roster.”
  • Providing information pertaining to pre-release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning services to facility release officers.
  • Assisting the Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through face-to-face and technology-based interactions.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in workforce development, social services, or corrections field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field.

Pay

$41,200.00 annually.
