Job Summary

As part of the Career and Talent Development (CTD) team, educates and provides resources and tools to FIU students regarding their career readiness.

  • Supports CTD leadership in developing and delivering innovative career readiness initiatives.
  • Works closely with the Career Development and Employer Engagement teams to increase student preparation and application to local and national employer internship and job opportunities.
  • Works closely with the Career Development Team to increase student preparation and application to local and national employer opportunities.
  • Mets 1-on-1 and in groups with students and recent alumni to assist with developing a career plan.
  • Facilitates presentations and outreach to promote the importance of career readiness to all audiences.
  • Collects data and prepares ad-hoc and yearly reports on student development data, including internship and other career engagement.
  • Presents career development workshops and presentations in a variety of settings.
  • Works closely with Employer Engagement and supports all Career and Talent Development events at all locations.
  • Provides supervision and ongoing training to career development student staff and/or programming.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related experience; OR Master's degree.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience assisting students with career readiness.
  • Ability to develop and deliver career readiness workshops i.e., Resume Writing, Internship 101, Interview Skills 101.
  • Knowledge of database administration for the collection and dissemination of data.
  • Knowledge of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or STRONG Interest Inventory.
  • Experience working with online students.
  • Preferred Experience in the areas of Education, Psychology and/or Human Resources.
