About the role

We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Medical Assistant for a unique dual-role opportunity supporting both clinical and front desk operations within an onsite health center in Plainfield, CT. This role works closely alongside a Physician Assistant in a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.

Schedule

• PRN / As Needed
• Monday–Friday only
• Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
• No weekends
• No major holidays
• Opportunity for future growth and expanded hours

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts.
• Provides patients' personal hygiene, assisting with travel to the bathroom/toileting, and activities of daily living.
• Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
• Performs routine CLIA waived laboratory tests/collects specimens for routine laboratory tests.
• Schedules appointments and makes follow-up phone calls to patients.
• Performs administrative tasks, completes appropriate client company and OSHA regulated forms, and provides assistance at front desk.
• Keys data into computer to maintain clinic and patient records.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• CPR (BLS for the Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer) certification. The copy must include the front and back of the card as applicable. Certification must include “hands-on” evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor. Total online courses will not be accepted. Course must also meet the American Heart Association (AHA) standards but need not be an AHA certificate.
• Work experience in a health center, doctor’s office setting, or long-term care.

Pay

Premise provides its reasonable and expected range of compensation for this job of $21.20 - $26.50 per hour. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
