Care Team Tech - Float Pool, PRN Nights

About the role

The Unit Clerk/Care Team Technician (CNA) assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing unit activities by performing clerical, receptionist, and patient care duties as outlined by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and prompt data collection; recognizes and reports variances in patient condition.
• Follows and recommends adjustments to the plan of care to meet patient needs.
• Provides patient-centered care and participates in shift reports to address individual patient needs.
• Documents data collection, tasks performed, and patient responses accurately; reports abnormal findings immediately.
• Performs blood glucose monitoring and notifies nursing of results.
• Monitors patients receiving blood or blood components and those on fall precautions.
• Provides interventions within scope of practice, including simple dressing changes, vital signs, I&O, foley catheter care, feedings, treatments, specimen collection, linen changes, activities of daily living, turning, and hygiene needs.
• Applies, replaces, and removes monitoring electrodes and telemetry packs as needed.
• Assists with patient preparation for procedures and transporting patients within the hospital.
• Demonstrates familiarity with emergent and non-emergent patient categories.
• Maintains accurate inventory of unit supplies and utilizes communication systems correctly (pagers, call system, telephone).
• Reports identified problems to the Clinical Supervisor and/or Manager and maintains confidentiality of medical records.
• Enters patient transfers/discharges into the computer system within 15 minutes of occurrence and maintains universal chart order.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program; certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Basic PC knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology.
