CARE PARTNER – MED SURG

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development and the care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Promotes customer service initiatives.
• Provides total hygiene care including skin care, bathing, toileting, etc.
• Affords assistance with patient ambulation in room, hall and bathroom.
• Affords assistance with feeding patients, offering fluids and snacks, recording amounts consumed.
• Responds to call lights, bed alarms, and requests from patient/family promptly.
• Documents vital signs and informs nurse of any change in patient status.
• Affords assistance with stocking supplies and maintaining clean working environment.
• Affords assistance with coworkers to meet patient care needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A High School Diploma/GED is preferred; CNA certification is preferred.
• A current BLS certification (or obtain prior to the completion of orientation) is required.
