About the role

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is located in Nashville, Tennessee, and operates as a hub for teaching, research, and patient care. The VUH 10S Elective Surgery Unit seeks a full-time dayshift Care Partner to assist with patient care and maintain unit environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Facilitate efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
• Serve as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates competence with interventions in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Independently works with clinical applications for patient documentation.
• Demonstrates ability to set up and maintain patient rooms, supplies, and equipment.
• Applies knowledge of standards, established processes, and procedures that apply to your own job.
• Develops self and others, builds and maintains relationships, communicates effectively, serves others with compassion, solves complex problems, offers meaningful advice and support, ensures high quality, manages organizational resources, makes data-driven decisions, generates new ideas, applies technology, adapts to change.
• High school diploma or GED.
