About the role

This position is primarily responsible for providing direct care for assigned patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. A care partner/CNA gets direction from a licensed nurse to assist the patient with needs and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Taking and recording patient vitals
• Helping patients with daily tasks, including getting dressed and using the restroom
• Monitoring patient progress and maintaining health records
• Fostering strong relationships with patients and making patients feel comfortable
• Aiding communication between patients and healthcare teams
• Communicating with the patient's family
• Helping patients plan for hospital discharge

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Tennessee OR
• Current enrollment in a program of professional nursing RN and successful completion of first semester of nursing school to include nursing fundamentals clinical
• BLS Required
