Job Summary
A full-time Care Partner/Nurse Assistant night shift position is available at Wellstar Paulding campus. This position works 7 PM to 7 AM, 36 hours per week with rotating weekends. The unit is a 12-bed Critical Care Unit/Duress Care Unit (CDU) located on the first floor, dedicated to providing quality care with compassion. The position is Magnet Designated and requires exceptional customer service skills.
Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions
Partners with the health care team, patient, and family to promote a positive patient experience.
Supports the plan of care as assigned or instructed by a licensed professional, engaging the patient and family in compliance with the treatment plan.
Contributes to the plan of care or treatment based on assigned tasks and patient/family input in collaboration with the healthcare team, focusing on the care continuum.
Implements all safety interventions to minimize risk in achieving intended outcomes, protecting patient rights and dignity, and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Participates in hourly patient rounding, answering telephones and call lights promptly, professionally, and notifying appropriate individuals of need for follow-up.
Resolves patient concerns or escalates to the charge nurse if unable to resolve.
Proactively offers assistance and comfort measures to patients and families.
Maintains confidentiality and a positive, professional demeanor, showing sensitivity to concerns and needs of others.
Provides patient care under the direction of the RN, including hygiene, nutrition, elimination, physical comfort measures, and additional advanced skills based on unit-specific requirements.
Assists RN and other members of the health care team with care delivery as assigned, assisting in direct patient admission, monitoring data entry, participating in charge reconciliation, performing audits, and communicating patient care concerns/problems/emergencies to the RN or Charge Nurse in a timely manner.
Communicates with patient and updates whiteboards with information, demonstrating knowledge of patient care documentation tools and reinforcing the importance of universal precautions with patients and their families.
Ensures a safe environment for patient care by consistent use of proper hand hygiene, keeping patient rooms and unit areas clean and free of clutter, following appropriate PPE/Infection control policies, and reinforcing the importance of universal precautions.
Performs environment of care rounds, using positive and respectful communication with all members of the healthcare team, patients, and families, and maintaining equipment such as blood pressure machines, glucometers, and other patient care equipment.
Required Minimum Education
Rising senior in good standing or equivalent degree preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) - InstructorCert
Nurse Assistant - Preferred
Additional License(s) And Certification(s)
Graduation from a State-approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program upon hire.
