About the role

We are seeking the right Care Partner/Caregiver to join our team at Highgate Senior Living. This position can be full-time or part-time and involves caring for our residents, who number over 700.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on care and stand-by assistance as needed
  • Offer physical assistance with activities of daily living
  • Provide emotional, psychological, and soulful support
  • Pivot and change direction with innovative approaches to care
  • Develop strong working relationships with residents and team members
  • Adapt quickly to the changing needs of older adults
  • Gain an understanding of various forms of dementia and its impact on residents

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Ability to obtain required caregiving license within specified timeframe if necessary
  • Current negative TB test
  • Possess the ability to sit, stand, bend, and move continuously during work hours
  • Ability to carry or transfer up to 50lbs with assistance
  • Ability to pass criminal record/background check
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Able to work independently with little oversight
  • Top-notch organizational abilities and communication skills
  • Willingness to attend and incorporate different types of training into work efforts

Qualifications

  • Good customer service skills, ability to intuit, and problem solve
  • Patience, level-headedness, and compassion
  • Ability to work with different types of people with different ability levels
  • Team player with strong working relationships
  • Comfortable adapting quickly to changing needs of older adults
  • Understanding of what it takes to provide care to residents needing physical and/or cognitive support
  • Experience working in assisted living communities or memory care communities
  • Experience in customer service roles
  • Opportunities from volunteer work involving vulnerable groups

Our compensation package is flexible based on the candidate’s credentials, tenure, and skill sets. The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. Being vaccinated against COVID-19 is preferred.
