Care Partner / Caregiver

About the role

We are seeking a Care Partner/Caregiver to join our team at Highgate Senior Living. This position can be full-time or part-time and involves caring for our residents, who number over 700. We provide a holistic approach to senior care, encouraging independence and offering a wide range of activities to enrich residents' lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and stand-by assistance as needed
• Support residents in activities of daily living
• Offer emotional, psychological, and spiritual support
• Pivot and adapt to meet the changing needs of residents
• Communicate effectively with residents and their families

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid Certification
• Ability to obtain caregiving license within specified timeframe if necessary
• Current negative TB test
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move continuously during work hours
• Ability to carry or transfer up to 50lbs with assistance
• Pass a criminal record/background check
• Efficient time management skills
• Ability to work independently with little oversight
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Qualifications

• Experience working in assisted living or memory care communities
• Volunteer experience involving care for vulnerable groups
• Customer service experience
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs
• Understanding of dementia and its effects

Compensation is flexible based on credentials, tenure, and skill sets. The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. Being vaccinated against COVID-19 is preferred.
