Care Partner - Cardiology Stepdown FT Nights 18:45 -7:15

About the Department

We care for adult patients aged 18 years and older who are being treated for various cardiovascular disorders such as aneurysms, amputations, congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, VT ablations, atrial fibrillation cardioversions, chest pain, pre- and post-op catheterizations, and pre- and post-op cardiothoracic surgeries. Our cardiac patients’ diagnoses range from STEMIs, CHF exacerbations, pacemaker exchanges, and transplant workups.

Schedule

• Full-Time Night Shift: 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts per week)
• Shifts rotate throughout the week
• Set schedules are not available; schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs
• All employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment

Requirements

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
• AND one of the following:
  • Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or
  • Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician

Preferred:

• One year of previous experience in a hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Assist with day-to-day delivery of patient care
• Facilitate efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards
• Serve as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs
• Support unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards
