About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
  • Monitor and document health: observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
  • Offer emotional support: engage in conversation, active listening, and offer companionship to elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges.
  • Assist with meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
  • Engage in social and recreational activities: support elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
  • Communicate: interact with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
  • Keep things clean: perform light housekeeping duties to ensure the cleanliness of the living spaces.

Requirements

  • A willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
  • Licensing documentation (if required by your state) and the ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • The ability to perform job responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of health monitoring and documentation.

Pay

$16.50 - $18.00 per hour, plus a $1.00 night shift differential.

Schedule

Nights 6p to 6am, with every other weekend coverage.
