Care Navigator/Administrator

About the role

Serving approximately 17,300 patients, we are a busy, forward-thinking practice committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Answering and managing incoming patient calls
• Booking, rearranging and cancelling appointments over the phone using clinical software
• Greeting and booking in patients at reception
• Booking, rearranging and cancelling appointments using clinical software
• Assessing patient needs and signposting to the most appropriate clinician or service
• Processing repeat prescription requests

Requirements

• Excellent telephone manner and strong customer service skills
• Enjoy communicating with people and comfortable spending much of the day on the telephone
• Demonstrate empathy, professionalism and discretion
• Work calmly and effectively in a busy environment
• Have good IT skills and the ability to learn specialist GP systems
• Work well both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare, reception, customer service or administrative role would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Experience of EMIS and Docman would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Working 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, shifts will be scheduled between Practice opening hours of 08:00 and 18:00 and may vary according to service requirements.
