Essential Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care while treating every resident with dignity and respect.
- Absorb residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and other personal care needs.
- Support residents during meals, including feeding assistance and encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.
- Absorb residents with mobility, transfers, ambulation, positioning, and restorative exercises as directed.
- Encourage residents to maintain their highest level of independence and functioning.
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance.
- Observe residents for changes in physical or emotional condition and report concerns to the nurse immediately.
- Accurately document care provided according to company policies.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow infection prevention protocols, standard precautions, and all safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
- Participate in emergency procedures, including fire safety and disaster response.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support resident care and community operations.
Requirements
Education
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Certifications
- CPR certification required (or ability to obtain within designated timeframe).
- Current CNA and/or HHA certification required and in good standing with the NJ board of nursing.
Knowledge & Skills
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, reposition, and transfer residents safely.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks associated with resident care.
