Cardiovascular Technician, PRN

The Cardiovascular Technician is a key member of the cardiac catheterization lab team, partnering with physicians and hospital staff to perform a variety of cardiovascular and vascular procedures. This role assists cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular cases while supporting both circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing responsibilities during procedures. The Cardiovascular Technician provides pre- and post-procedure patient care and assessment, working primarily with adult patients in a high-quality, patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities
- Assists cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular cases
- Supports circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing responsibilities during procedures
- Provides pre- and post-procedure patient care and assessment
- Operates specialized imaging equipment
- Ensures patient safety
- Maintains equipment readiness in accordance with established scope, regulatory standards, and best practices
- Collaborates effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
Requirements
Required:
- Graduate of a Program in Discipline (Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology)
- Active registry or certification in a relevant clinical discipline, or completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technician (CVT) program
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with a thorough working knowledge of practices and experiences in a Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- ACLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Cardiac catheterization, Cardiac nursing, Special procedures, Respiratory therapy with cardiac or intensive care patients
