About the role

This is a 13-week contract assignment for a Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist located in Marysville, CA, 95901.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room and sterile field for cardiovascular surgical procedures.
  • Set up sterile instruments, supplies, equipment, medications, and solutions required for procedures.
  • Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs and provide additional instruments or supplies as required.
  • Perform appropriate surgical counts with the circulating nurse before procedures and before incision closure.
  • Assist with patient preparation and positioning as directed.
  • Help maintain the sterile field throughout the procedure.
  • Prepare and secure sterile dressings following procedures.
  • Verify the scheduled procedure and ensure required documentation and consent forms are available.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
  • Assist with operating room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures.
  • Ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
  • Follow established infection-control and surgical safety protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology (Required).
  • Relevant acute-care surgical experience (Preferred).
  • Cardiovascular/heart surgery experience (Required).
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
  • National Board of Surgical Technologists certification or Association of Surgical Technologists certification.
  • BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider.

Schedule

Days, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, 10-hour shifts.

Pay

$60–$82/hour (W-2).
