Cardiovascular Radiologic Tech- Cardiac Cath Lab
About the role
We are seeking a skilled Catheterization Laboratory Operator to join our dedicated team at Ochsner Health. Your role will involve operating diagnostic fluoroscopy equipment, monitoring patient vitals, and assisting physicians during procedures. You will also be responsible for preparing and cleaning procedure rooms, transmitting digital angiography procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
- Operate diagnostic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease.
- Monitor patient vitals and report values to the physician.
- Assist in patient setup and prep before procedures and clean up post-procedure using safe patient transfer and positioning techniques.
- Document procedures in the procedure log for accurate billing and charge capture.
- Transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images in PACS.
- Perform quality control on fluoroscopy equipment and maintain it regularly.
- Adapt to the specific needs of the patient population, including respecting privacy and explaining procedures clearly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in radiologic sciences.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice AND registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in radiologic sciences.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience as an allied health professional.
Skills
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be detail-oriented and perform complex tasks safely.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory radiation requirements.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.
