About the Role
Coordinates assigned cardiovascular structural program(s) in their entirety by working closely with interventional cardiologists, non-invasive cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and other members of the healthcare team. In conjunction with medical and hospital leadership, is responsible for creating policies and patient care pathways, follows standards of care, and communicates with clinical/nursing staff working with the same cohort of patients. Responsible for monitoring volume, quality, care pathway compliance, and reporting at appropriate venues. Supports the growth of programs and services by coordinating and supporting the development of protocols, clinical workflows, and education and research efforts of the team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate cardiovascular structural programs in collaboration with interventional cardiologists, non-invasive cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and healthcare team members.
- Develop and implement policies and patient care pathways in conjunction with medical and hospital leadership.
- Monitor program volume, quality, and compliance with care pathways; report findings at appropriate venues.
- Support program growth through protocol development, clinical workflows, and education and research initiatives.
- Communicate standards of care and training effectively to clinical and nursing staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Current state RN licensure or eligible for licensure in the applicable state.
- 3 years of experience providing care to patients within cardiology.
- Ability to think logically and sequentially, understand redesign concepts, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to coordinate patient care across the care continuum.
- Ability to develop standards, training, and communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of demonstrated experience managing quality programs.
Physical Requirements
- Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
