Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist I & II

Purpose of Position: The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist performs and assists with all procedures within Cardiovascular Procedural Area (CVPA), ensuring patient safety, image quality, and adherence to regulatory safety standards under the direction of Physicians. Description Assist in all aspects of invasive procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters in accordance with policies and procedures. Assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures, operates interventional equipment and ensure patient comfort and safety. Document all supplies, implants, and other regulatory components pertaining to the exam.Prepares, positions, transfers, and assists patients during procedures to ensure safety, comfort, and optimal imaging outcomes.Demonstrates a thorough understanding and working knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy, physiology, interventional supplies and equipment operationProvide patient education appropriate to the procedure. Follows State regulations for radiation safety.Assists in room/table/sterile-tray set-up and turnoverReview and document pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data as needed.Coordinates workflow to support efficiency of patient care and procedure. Sets up sterile tray, cleans and disposes after procedure.Participates in ongoing education and competencies Assist Physician with administration of contrast media with arterial, venous and percutaneous procedures. Assists in maintaining inventory for the department.Responsible for daily checklists, equipment safety checks/inspections, preventative maintenance, and reporting of any equipment. Assist and scrub with Vascular Surgeons/Interventional Radiologists in the operating room as needed.Demonstrates proficiency in computerized informatics (information system).Participates in departmental training and quality/process improvement initiatives.Use of lead apron required, as well as any other Personal Protective Equipment as required. On-call required for off-shifts, weekends and holidays.Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers. On call (on-site within 30 minutes) required in Rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays. Use of Lead apron required.
