Job Responsibilities
- Formulates an individual Plan of Care for patients with complex needs to achieve a desired outcome.
- Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors.
- Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals. Demonstrates evidence of self-development activities (beyond orientation) and attends services/seminars related to field.
- Anticipates/maintains lab supply needs during procedures. Supports and suggests departmental cost-saving strategies and provides care in an efficient and cost conscious manner.
- Performs higher-level tasks in the care of cardiac cath patients (e.g. Impella and new technologies).
- Provides complete care of patients with complex needs to achieve desired outcomes including patients on life support systems (e.g. ventilator and ECMO).
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
- Licensure - Registered Nurse Upon Start
- If the team member doesn't possess one of the above registries, the team member must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification - Basic Life Support from American Heart Association Upon Start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Start; Registered in one of the following: RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, RTRCI, unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- CPR; ACLS if Critical Care Certification.
- Experience - One year of experience at an Inova cath lab or EP lab at a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 level. Two years of equivalent experience/training in an interventional cardiac Cath Lab or an Electrophysiology Lab.
- Education - Associate Degree - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
