About the role
This position has been allocated for a board certified or eligible physician. Cardiovascular Hospitalist (Hospitalist)
Responsibilities
- Works primarily out of the Acute Cardiovascular unit at Utah Valley Hospital.
- Admits patients coming in with a presumed primary cardiac condition and provides comprehensive consultative service within the CV unit.
- Manages most heart failure, acute MI, myopericarditis, primary and secondary arrhythmias admitted.
- Continues to manage patients on their service if the patient is found to have a primary medical condition after initial work-up.
- Covers the whole breadth of Internal Medicine by working closely with ID, rheumatology, endocrinology, nephrology, pulmonology, GI, and heme/onc, in addition to the CV based specialists.
- Works approximately fifteen 12-hour shifts monthly, getting paid for shifts in excess of that average, and works amongst their peers to request and cover time off when needed.
- Includes a $15,000 starting bonus (external candidates), relocation assistance (determined by distance), and a Value Recognition Payment up to $20,000 annually based on meeting quality goals, thoughtful stewardship of our healthcare system, and achieving high standards in performance reviews as they relate to citizenship.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.
- Residency training in Internal Medicine.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
- Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one.
- Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process.
- Current BLS Certification is required before the first day of employment.

- Candidates should have a passion in caring for cardiovascular patients.
Skills
- Cardiac focused education will be provided with clinical onboarding.
- Expected to acquire and apply an in-depth understanding of cardiovascular disease, treatment, and imaging modalities.

- The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
