Qualifications
- Current nursing license in good standing
- Associate’s Degree in nursing required, bachelor’s preferred
- Two to three years of Cath Lab experience required. Emergency Room / ICU experience preferred
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS)
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with all invasive cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures
- Demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care
- Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care
- Use appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication
- Assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following removal of catheter or sheath, and return to room
- Manage emergent cases
- Maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records
- Complete all paperwork associated with these procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation
- Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations
- Collaborate with fellow members of the team and orient and needed
