Qualifications

• Current nursing license in good standing
• Associate’s Degree in nursing required, bachelor’s preferred
• Two to three years of Cath Lab experience required. Emergency Room / ICU experience preferred
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS)

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with all invasive cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures
• Demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care
• Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care
• Use appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication
• Assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following removal of catheter or sheath, and return to room
• Manage emergent cases
• Maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records
• Complete all paperwork associated with these procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation
• Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations
• Collaborate with fellow members of the team and orient and needed
