About the role

Alaska Regional Hospital is seeking a BE/BC Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join their team in the state of Alaska.

Job Summary

Qualified candidates must be board certified or board eligible in cardiothoracic surgery, experienced in routine heart surgery procedures, thoracic procedures, valve surgeries including TAVR and mitral, proficient in general adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, capable of taking call for both, knowledgeable and experienced with advanced technologies to reduce the invasiveness of thoracic and cardiovascular procedures, and able to obtain Alaska licensure and DEA.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine heart surgery procedures, thoracic procedures, and valve surgeries including TAVR and mitral
• Take call for both cardiothoracic surgery and general adult cardiac surgery
• Utilize advanced technologies to minimize invasiveness of procedures
• Obtain Alaska licensure and DEA

Requirements

• Board certification or board eligibility in cardiothoracic surgery
• Experience in routine heart surgery procedures, thoracic procedures, valve surgeries including TAVR and mitral
• Proficiency in general adult cardiac and thoracic surgery
• Able to take call for both cardiothoracic surgery and general adult cardiac surgery
• Knowledge and experience with advanced technologies to reduce the invasiveness of thoracic and cardiovascular procedures
• Ability to obtain Alaska licensure and DEA

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Completion of a cardiothoracic surgery residency program
• Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Alaska
• Current DEA license
