About the role
The Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Specialist functions within the healthcare team as a professional caregiver, providing quality care to adult and geriatric cardiac and/or pulmonary patients and their families. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, exercise, education, and psychosocial support. The specialist collaborates with other disciplines in assessing patient care needs, implementing care plans, evaluating patient outcomes, and ensuring the effectiveness of care.
Additional duties include assisting with Cardiac Holter monitor application, removal, and scanning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health/Fitness, or a related field.
- BCLS/ACLS certification strongly preferred at hire or required within 90 days of hire; must maintain clinical competency during employment.
- EP-C or CEP Certification from the ACSM strongly preferred at hire or required within 90 days of hire; must maintain clinical competency during employment.
