Cardiopulmonary Patient Educator - Registered Nurse

As a Cardiopulmonary Patient Educator, you will use your clinical skills to educate patients and their caregivers on complex Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) therapies, providing infusion training and clinical support. This is a direct-hire, full-time position offering a uniquely rewarding setting to use exceptional nursing skills as a national leader in the home infusion field.
Responsibilities
- Consult and collaborate with physicians, clinicians, pharmacy operations, and the sales team to coordinate the patient's plan of care.
- Work within a highly specialized area of nursing with the autonomy of home care service.
- Assist patients who are initiating or transitioning to infused or inhaled therapies for PAH.
- Develop deep relationships with patients and caregivers in a one-on-one setting.
- Provide excellent written and verbal customer service and use advanced computer skills to interact with key partners.
- Participate in on-call rotation as business needs require (every 4–6 weeks).
- Travel approximately 20–30% of the time working from home when educating patients on oral or inhaled therapies.
- Spend approximately 70–80% of time visiting patients in-person for infused therapy education.
- About 80% of in-person travel within a one-hour drive of Detroit; remaining 20% primarily in the Upper Peninsula of MI and other states within the Central Region.
- Overnight visits occur approximately once per month, occasionally more.
- Travel via car and airplane to see patients, support the sales team, and attend training as needed.
- Must reside within one hour of a major airport.
Requirements
- Must live within one hour of a major airport.
- Registered Nurse with a current unrestricted license in the state of MI, with ability to obtain additional licensure for multi-state service area.
- Two years of experience in a critical care or acute care hospital setting providing high-tech infusions, or two years of high-tech home infusion experience.
- Ability to build positive business relationships with all levels of medical/clinical personnel.
- Ability to travel as noted in the position summary and as business needs require.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid and current driver's license and auto insurance.
- Participation in the on-call rotation as determined by staffing and business needs.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience caring for patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) — preferred but not required.
- Preferred: Home healthcare and pediatric experience — preferred but not required.
- Education: RN Diploma, Associate's degree, or B.S. degree in nursing.
Pay
The typical pay range for this role is $60,522.00 – $129,615.00 per year (base annual full-time salary). The actual base salary offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
